Relationship Portraiture

A mother's love.

This portrait was inspired by two photographers that I admire, Tim and Beverly Waldon.

I recently attended a seminar where the two of them spoke about what they call "relationship portraiture".  The goal of this style is to bring out emotion by showing a relationship.  In other words, if it where possible to show in a photograph what you feel about a person or how that person has influenced your life, then this is an attempt to express that bond.  

Introducing "Baby Parts"

Meet Kai.  Kai is a brand new baby boy that I got to photograph.  With "Baby Parts" the idea is to capture those precious little details that you love about your baby.  Tiny little fingers and toes and nails and eyelashes are part of  what I capture using the most delicate attention and artful composition.  Those little details change and grow before your very eyes almost overnight.  Never forget them.
